Abstract
I intend to present a range of experiments to probe the domain of overlap of quantum physics and general relativity. My claim will be that we are now technologically ready to perform definitive tests of the quantum nature of the gravitational field. Moreover, and this is a minority view, I will explain why I believe that there are no a priori fundamental problems with unifying quantum physics and general relativity. Of course, how we should proceed to do so will depend on the outcomes of the outlined experiments, and I will sketch a few main directions in which this could unfold.
Speaker Bio
Vlatko Vedral is a professor of quantum information at Oxford. He has published over 400 research papers on various topics in quantum physics and quantum computing and is one of the Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers (2017). Vlatko has given numerous invited plenary and public talks during his career. He is the author of four textbooks and three popular books: Decoding Reality, From Micro to Macro, and Portals to a New Reality.
